Lucy’s story

At Oasis one of the services we provide is Refuge accommodation for women and children who have had to flee their homes for their own safety. They often arrive with very few belongings and are frightened and traumatised because of the abuse they have suffered.

Our first priority is to settle families in and help them feel safe again.

Below is a letter from Lucy, one of our residents who wrote about her stay:

“I just wanted to thank all staff for helping us settle in for our first week, I put refuge off for so long and I wish I hadn’t. We are all doing so well, and you really can’t put a price on feeling 100% safe and without paranoia. My boys are so comfortable here and so am I.”

Thank you so much for rescuing us, I don’t know who I was trying to fool that I could do this on my own.
