Banksy’s artwork ‘Valentine’s Day Mascara’ has been unveiled at its new home at Dreamland Margate.
The artwork has been moved from its original location, on the side of a house in the town, safely by a team of engineers, supported by an art conservator and coordinated by Red Eight Gallery and Dreamland.
You can see the artwork, for free, in Dreamland’s Roller Room.
The theme of the artwork is a commentary on domestic abuse and the original owner was keen for the artwork’s reinstallation to raise money for a local charity that supports survivors.
We are honoured and grateful to be that chosen charity and to be one of Dreamland’s chosen charities for 2023. Support like this goes a long way to sustaining our vital work, which is never more needed.
We were delighted to be at the opening of the artwork on Saturday 10 June 2023 and for the national and local press to share the importance of raising awareness of domestic abuse and feature our work. See our CEO Claire Williams speak to Channel 4, ITV, ITV Meridian, KMTV and read the press stories in The Independent, Evening Standard, Daily Mail, Isle of Thanet News, Kent Online, BBC.
“It truly will spark and create conversations, and this is only a positive thing”
Claire Williams, CEO Oasis

Love shouldn’t hurt, for anyone. #DomesticAbuse affects 1 in 5 adults and 1 in 7 children*. No one should suffer from the people that are supposed to love them. I’m supporting @OasisDomesticAbuseService in raising awareness and spreading the word so that more survivors can get to safety.
