Charlie's story

Charlie* was seven years old when he arrived at an Oasis refuge with his mum, escaping his stepfather’s constant intimidation and abuse.

When he arrived, Charlie was anxious and overwhelmed. He wanted a Christmas like other children have. Would Santa even be able to find him in a refuge?

Thanks to the compassion of supporters like you, Charlie and his mum found safety and security at Oasis. Our team worked tirelessly to help them overcome the trauma they’d experienced and begin to rebuild their lives.

Thank you

The money raised from your virtual gift goes directly towards our support services for adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse in East Kent, Medway and North Kent.

This includes one-to-one support, refuge, safe accommodation, group programmes and mentoring, as well as sustaining our helpline and one-stop-shop virtual and in-person drop-in centres.

Your gift literally goes towards saving lives, and we’re so grateful.
